Went on a Monday night... live music by a duo that were absolutely fantastic. Really atmospheric surroundings in the basement of stone walls and little hideaway rooms. The Guinness was very well poured and perfect. Cannot fault it.
Bar is nice and atmosphere inside is good. However if you want this experience and don't want to deal with outsourced security that are absolutely horrible go to the ones in Glasgow. I got grief from both the security staff as I was leaving because there were people coming in. On the night of this review is the same night I am posting an it left a throughly unpleasant taste for the bar. Please sort your out sourced staff out reflect the vibe of the bar
We just popped in late on a Sunday night . Was full of students so we felt like the parents but good atmosphere and band.
Amazing atmosphere very busy but the staff are very hard working keep the drinks flowing and the empty glasses disappearing live music is good there's little private space in the middle that can be reserved all round pretty good
The band was awesome the night I was there! The bartender was friendly. There is no food. Only chips and peanuts. They also have sports on the TV's. Good place for drinks and live music.
Best pint of Guinness in Edinburgh. Staff are always so happy and friendly, and the craic is superb. We visit every time we're in town. Always seems to be football on.....I may ask the husband if it's a coincidence or not ,🤔

Went to watch a football game recently, lovely old style basement bar, with a big capacity, so booked a booth, as there are a few, excellent for a few mates gathering to watch a game, no food served but plenty staff on so didn't have long to wait to get served.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great music pre and post match, plenty screens to.see the game, from.anywhere in the pub. Regular haunt now for us to watch the footie or rugby.
I remember the grotty old PoohNaNa, and this is a great improvement. A typical Irish pub, they follow the formula well. If you are lucky they often have live music.
